ResumeRoast ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Cornerstone Consulting Group, an Australian business based in Adelaide, South Australia. We provide an AI-powered resume review service via resumeroast.com.au.

What we collect

When you use ResumeRoast, we may collect:

Resume content: When you upload a PDF resume, we extract the text content to generate your score and feedback. We do not permanently store your resume file or its contents after scoring is complete. Resume text is sent to our AI scoring engine (powered by Anthropic's Claude API) for analysis and is not retained by us or Anthropic after processing.

Email address: If you provide your email address to receive your score, we store it to send you your results and occasional tips on improving your resume. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Usage data: We collect basic analytics such as page views, feature usage, and anonymised IP addresses for rate limiting purposes. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising.

Payment information: If you purchase a paid plan, payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment processing.

How we use your data

We use your data solely to provide and improve the ResumeRoast service. Specifically: to generate your resume score and feedback, to send you your results via email, to process payments for paid features, to prevent abuse through rate limiting, and to improve the quality of our scoring engine. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

Anthropic (Claude API): Your resume text is sent to Anthropic's API for AI-powered analysis. Anthropic's data usage policies apply. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models.

Stripe: For secure payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs how payment data is handled.

Resend: For transactional email delivery (sending you your results). Resend's privacy policy governs how email data is handled.

Vercel: Our hosting provider. Vercel's privacy policy applies to server logs and infrastructure data.

Data retention

Resume content is processed in real-time and is not stored after your score is generated. Email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Payment records are retained as required by Australian tax law.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@resumeroast.com.au. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

Cookies

We use essential cookies only, required for the site to function (such as session management). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Children's privacy

ResumeRoast is not intended for use by anyone under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
